As a designer creating printables for my Etsy shop, I often debate which color palette to use. To make informed decisions, I turn to Pantone forecasting guides that study color effects and fashion trends to determine what customers want now and in the future.

Case Study: Using Pantone Colors for More Sales

In 2017, Pantone named Greenery as the color of the year.

Though it wasn’t my first choice, I decided to use it as a challenge.

Along with the color of the year, Pantone released color palettes for spring and fall featuring pastels, gem tones, warm and earthy tones.

By using the Spring 2017 palette, I created a Greenery line that paired the color with Pale Dogwood, creating a contrast. To date this is one of my top selling products:

I also designed a wedding planner that featured natural green elements and a bohemian flair, continuing the success of the Greenery line.
